4/3 [TU], 2018

* Sorry, I have to have a sub for the first three days back due to family needs

     40-55 minutes; until passing probably?
I.  PREVIEW BOOKS/ROUND ROBIN previewing
         - NEXT PROJECT is a MULTICULTURAL POETRY SCRAPBOOK
based on a young adult, multicultural novel that you will pick from today
         - same process as with Medieval Historical Fiction Books
move in groups from table to table and preview books
         - you'll be writing poetry based on this book, setting, characters, etc.
         - and, yes, there will be vocabulary and research from this book as we read

     A.  ___  Look at cover -- is it something that might interest you?
___  Look at the author's name and title; do they sound familiar or interesting?
___  Then look at back cover and backpage blur; read whatever descriptions you can
___  Check for an inside cover blurb and read it; does it grab your interest?
___  Glance through the first page or so; maybe read a bit; how's it sound?
___  Are there illustrations?  Long chapters or short?  Chapter titles?  Just numbers?
___  What do you think of the text font?

REPEAT THIS FOR EACH SET OF BOOKS AT YOUR TABLE

      B.   ___   DISCUSS at that table with table mates:
what books did you like or not like?  Why?  What stood out?
if you had to pick one back at this table, what would it be and why?

MOVE AS A GROUP TO NEXT TABLE AND REPEAT THIS PROCESS

       C.   CHOOSE A BOOK from all the books you've looked at
              * plan a schedule to finish or nearly finish in two weeks
              * AT LEAST 30 minutes per night reading per night Mo-Th,
