FORMS TO TURN IN:
__ Ashland Blue Interest Information Form (ASAP, even verbal or email)
__ Friday, Nov. 16 Skating Field Trip Permission Slips (due by Wednesday)

SOME CHANGES TO STRUCTURE OF THE ABC BOOK
WE'RE GOING TO ADDRESS SOME ISSUES I'VE SEEN
AND CHANGE THE FORMAT/REQUIREMENTS

I.  MIDDLE AGES/DARK AGES
A.   - review last chapter of Dark Ages DVD
(Charles The Hammer saves Christianity and a weak Christian Europe)
grandson will become "father of Europe" and "greatest King of Middle Ages")
        - share key points we reviewed
B.    - go back through notes and box/bold-face (darken) key words
          that indicate a topic
           - focus on where in your notes there are paragraph breaks
           - draw lines at those spots and write a topic category or box a key word
             (early training, the battle, etc.)

II.  CHARLEMAGNE: Greatest King of the Middle Ages
A.      - Questioning Activity
Brainstorm (in SS Spiral) questions to ask
                 - questions we'd ask to research for a report on topic/subject
           - organize sheet in spiral five lines per Who, What, Where, Why, How, When
           - one word can be a question (example:  Motives?)
           - share/discuss (fill the page with questions)

B.       - review encyclopedia article format/design
           - where to start; what not to read
           - READ ARTICLE silently (1x through without taking notes)

C.       - teacher model one page of notes from first two paragraphs
           - spread out, created bold-face capitalized topic words
           * we ran out of time for students to do their own (will come back to it on Thursday)
