I. READING WARM-UP: SHOPPING essay
- read essay and answer questions - SHOW READING
- create an outline of essay on the back; break down organization
- share/discuss topic, thesis and main ideas as a class
II. MULTICULTURAL BOOK (for home reading)
- look at/ peruse about 10 different multicultural novels
- note cover, title, back cover description, possibly read first few pages
- choose one that is most appealing or interesting to you
* Students will write and produce a Poetry Scrapbook, based on this book
* write a variety of poem-styles (April is Poetry Month)
* many rough drafts will be completed in class (as long as student has read book!)
* will be due in final form April 30
