I.  VOCABULARY WEEK 14 - correct
- correct and discuss in groups; compare answers
* sentences due FRIDAY (Spring, Spring Break or Weather sentences)

II.  JAPANESE MEDIEVAL WARRIOR CLASS
- comparing Japan's medieval warrior class
  to both medieval knights AND to Greasers (Outsiders)

A. SKIM and SCAN chapters 20-21 of HA Text
- one page notes (left-hand side of SS Spiral)
- neat, legible, organized notes
- rewrite subtitles into a fact
- reading strategy to pick up quick details on a topic
* one page ONLY (look ahead to see how much space you might need)
- share facts as a class before break time

B.  READ HA, CH 22, pages 218-227
- complete Interactive Student Notebook, 22.3-22.9, pages 150-153
- read chapter first, THEN go back & complete ISN
* not homework, unless you are determined to finish at home (for higher grade)

C. WRITE CINQUAIN on some aspect of SAMURAI
- using the format on the overhead, write one or more rough drafts
- quick, messy (try to focus on some aspect)
- use words from text
- right hand side of SS Spiral (part of April Poetry Month)

        Industrial Pollution, page 150 ("Issues Today)
        * each section is it's own page; has  title/subject
        * create questions or labels to the left of your facts
        * all pages require a reflection or summary or a "so what?"

___  complete VOCAB WEEK 14 in a timely manner (DUE FRIDAY - tomorrow)
        - DAY 1 complete in class MO  (should now be done & corrected)
        - DAY 2 complete at home MO night  (should now be done & corrected)
        - DAY 3 complete at home TU night  (should now be done & corrected)
        - DAY 4 complete at home WE night  (should now be done & corrected)
        * theme of sentences is Spring,  Spring Break or the Weather (any combination)

        * begin SENTENCES once you correct and check answers (each night)
           Try to get a few done early! ! !  (DUE FRIDAY - tomorrow)
        * write sentences with detail and context.  Show that you understand the meaning
           of the word.
        * underline or box the vocabulary word; skip lines between sentences
        * title must include which week of vocabulary (which #) and the topic
