2/15/12 - WE

I.  TRACKER, people
- you know the routine.  Check your tracker.
- What's due?  What do you not have done?
- What do you need to work on?  Fill in?


II.  OUTSIDERS - memorization strategies
- review notes, chapters 1-4
- read and memorize chapter plot summaries
- (a) read; (b) read again, underline key words you'd use to paraphrase
- (c) read again, write down list of key words underlined or boxed
- (d) read out loud plot summaries; all at once; quiet voice
- get into groups, with each person speaking out their chapter summary

III.  OUTSIDERS
- read Chapter 5
- notes on prison imagery; bucolic, romantic imagery of country
- Ponyboy's "sleepiness" "dreaminess" (foreshadowing of later break down)
- sense of image/mirror image of how greasers look; self-awareness
