STUPENDOUS: A synonym for something or someone amazing, astounding, awesome and marvelous. Derived from the Latin word stupendus, which meant "to be wondered at or amazed by."
TYRANNY: Cruel and oppressive rule or control, usually by a person or a government. Persons being tyrannical are often called despotic, absolute-rulers, un-democratic monsters, absolutist and iron-fisted. A tyranny is often considered highly unfair and severe. Tyrannical rulers often put down rebellions or questions with harsh, cruel, deadly, torturous methods.
OPPRESSION: Prolonged (over a long period of time) control that is harsh, heavy-handed, highly restricted, cruel and mean. To keep someone down, keep them as workers or slaves or weak.
ALIGNED: Past tense of "align." To line up, to match perfectly side by side. Also means to place or arrange in a straight line.
PREVAILS: To hold out, not be defeated. To prove stronger and more durable than whatever force or thing is attacking you or pushing against you. To be victorious or win over someone or something.
