10/24 [WE]


     descriptive writing/descriptive powerful vocabulary
I.  'GHOST STORY" / POE-CABULARY
    - work time/finish time (first few minutes of class)

II.  DESCRIPTIVE WORDS BRAINSTORM
     A.    - using back of one of the "Ghost Story" sheets, create a list
                a list of words that create scary, tense, creepy stories
             - use the Poe-Cabulary sheet or the "Ghost Story" sheet for ideas

    B.   -  copy in spiral teacher-led list of words (left-hand side of spiral)

    C.   -  begin rough draft descriptive SCARY/TENSE scary house SCENE
              not a short story; a moment in a story; a description of a scene in the story
           -  use the words on the left for ideas if you have nothing;
               string them into sentences
