II. WINTER BREAK BINGO BOARD
A. - randomly assign letters of the alphabet in the upper right small box of
each large box on bingo board
- Now flip page over and review letter categories;
- Look up (in groups) BIG WORDS in each category
recognize and underline big, challenging, high-level words
define or translate into easy language above the word
B. TRANSLATE meanings (if needed) into simpler statements
write translation to the right of each letter description
III. WINTER BREAK BINGO
- And now, finally, go and find people who fit these descriptions
- students who qualify for action or item
- students who did these things
- one student per bingo board
- must write down 2-4 words that are details for that person (to qualify for bingo)
* you can't just write down their name; you have to ask them questions or hear about details
* go for black outs, vertical or diagonal bingos (keep going and going)
