I. BACKWARDS PLANNING
A. - review yesterday's "To Do" list
- share in groups what you still have to do
- NOW look at the tracker -- how many days left?
B. - fold scratch paper (no lines) into 8ths / 3 folds
- bottom right becomes the due day
- list (small & box) the date and day of week in upper corner of each box
- create a "to do" list of every specific act/task needed to finish before due date
- prioritize what needs to be done first and what can be done last (discuss in class)
C. - share list in groups; listen to others to get ideas or confirm you are on right track
D. - WORK TIME (choose one thing to do; be efficient with your time)
II. DARK AGES DVD
- we take a little bit longer to get to Chapter 2 of History Alive textbook
- continue to look at life after the fall of the ancient Roman Empire

3. What was the legacy of the ancient Roman Empire?
What did they accomplish and how do the A.R.E still impact the world today?
4. What happened after the fall of the ancient Roman Empire in Western Europe?
What was the impact on Europe after the "fall?"
- video notes; KEY WORD LIST
- pay attention to "new paragraphs" and key topics; when to skip a line or draw a line
- what words to emphasize; how to create "lists" as we go
- pay attention to the metaphors writers use in this series
