I.   GIVER TEST question preview and pre-test study strategies

 A.     REVIEW NOTES in SPIRAL
          - quietly (SSR) look over notes in spiral
          - where is major information?  use titles & note special design eye-catchers
like boxed words, all cap words, etc.  (now those things help focus on information)

  B.    REVIEW TEST QUESTIONS
          -  double-sided question sheet
(now that you've reviewed your notes, think about WHERE the answers might be)

C,  revolving PARTNER SHARE / DISCUSS
         - share & discuss the answers in groups (40 minutes)
            * teacher will shift you to new groups every few minutes
*share or listen; part of test is "participation" in this process
         * you may WRITE 1-2 word notes on your question study guide
to help with writing out answers later; no sentences; key words only

   D.   take the GIVER FINAL SHORT ANSWER  TEST (hour-long writing test)
         - focus on the questions you know best (or just heard answers to in your discussions)
         - Each answer must be a paragraph in length, detailed, 3-5 sentences, minimum
         - do not assume the reader knows anything; add details to your writing
         - rewrite the question into your answer as a statement
         - you may answer any question in any order you like
        * USE YOUR NOTES from the spiral (many questions are directly answered in notes)

        * when time has ended, circle the number of your best three answers;
indicate for me what answers to look at first
