******** VOCABULARY PACKET DUE TODAY ******
I. MIB INTRODUCTION
rough draft prep QW-style
While the reflection at the back of your MIB is about your work process, the Introduction at the front is about how you interacted with your subject. You are, in a sense, "introducing" this person to your readers. What should we know about your person? Why should we be interested? Hook your readers with a preview of what they'll see and learn inside your MIB.
ALWAYS REWRITE THE QUESTION INTO YOUR ANSWER.
DO NOT REWRITE AS A QUESTION.
REWRITE AS A STATEMENT.
1. Begin with a quick 3-5-sentence description of who your person is
and just a few major/significant points about what he or she did, origins, etc.
Make sure to include years or significant dates where appropriate.
2. Very briefly, in no more than 3-5 sentences, describe the world or society that your subject
lived in so that we understand the scenario in which your subject would impact history.
3. Why is your person significant or important? What did he or she do?
HOW did he or she do these things?
4. When you first began this project, how much did you know about your person?
What drew you (or interested you) in this person? Explain.
What lessons did you learn or take about living or being or trying (life lessons)
by studying and writing about your subject?
** There are a variety of ways to write this. You could also begin with a description of the world your subject lived in to make obvious just how hard life was or build the situation in which your person would impact history.
