grammar/vocabulary  practice

I.  REX- ,  RECT-  root words = "King"
-   Show reading by boxing and underlining where appropriate
- annotate/write notes to show understanding (teacher model)
- write possible plot against the king using 5 riddle elements


II.  History Channel's The DARK AGES dvd, continued

- review previous notes
- share facts from last session using words or phrases from notes
- share as a class
* what do we learn about after the fall of the Western Roman Empire?

- this session focuses on CLOVIS, King of the Franks
- his development, his alliance with Christianity and how each side benefited
- end with "so what?" what did he do?  Why is he important in history?
