I. BACK 2 SCHOOL NIGHT SCHEDULES
- fill out two schedules
- last name in the upper right hand corner for alphabetizing
- one copy goes to the office if parents need to ask
- one copy goes home to parents
* take a photo of schedule IF you have a smart phone (smart use of technology)
* PE and McSherry Health are both in SMALL GYM
II. MIB VOCAB & READING CHECK IN
* you should all be done or almost done reading your materials
* you SHOULD have a list of at least 20 words from first part of reading materials
strong, colorful
by the due date, glossary will have 40 total vocabulary words
WORD (word part); Definition. "Sentence Word Appears In." (page number)
1, minimum, 3-4 maximum sentences explaining HOW word applies or fits into
life and world of your subject

III. finish LEGACY OF ROMAN EMPIRE FRAME
- reread first and last paragraph of Introduction AND the chapter summary
to write a "So What? Why This Matters" conclusion on the frame
IV. ROME POME
- introduction/read instructions
- share what you think we have to do/explain the assignment
- read two examples/teacher discusses process
- write two rough drafts from one section, one paragraph, or whole chapter
- share at end of class, read out loud to self, 3-4 times, each time focusing on words, tone, etc.
* you are not creating any new words
* eliminate any unnecessary words
* every line teaches reader about topic
