4/14/15 - TU [To Be A Knight]

* Late opening Wednesday (read your Multicultural novel!)
* Multicultural Novel Scrapbook due May 7th
* Practice SBAC test (language arts) this Thursday
* Gentile Core SBAC testing week of May 4th-8th


I.  KNIGHTS essay
- review all notes on knights
- review essential questions (What, When, Why, How, Who, Where)
  silently, then in groups
- draft points to make in quick write essay
- one-page quick write: MEDIEVAL KNIGHTS OF WESTERN EUROPE
  clear introduction, briefly mentioning essential WWWWH information
  paragraphs that explain more of the WWWWH just mentioned
  clear conclusion explaining end of knightly era and impact on today's society

II.  TO BE A KNIGHT - poem (more chivalrous view)
* CAN ALSO WRITE ABOUT "NOBLE WOMAN," or "EVIL KNIGHT,"

- based on reading, research, and the movie Knight's Tale
- 10 to 15 lines long (no more than that)
- if a line is too long, create a second line or indent the second line
- score based on how specific lines are
- strong, clear word choice
- tone based on what you choose to focus on

___   determine setting from novel to complete ATLAS statements (due Monday)
        * 10 statements minimum from just looking at maps
        * 10 statements max from captions or text or facts
        * may be typed or hand written
        * you may also use online research to look up maps, geography of your novel's setting
