- focus on playful, rhythmic language with style (folksy)
- hyperbole, alliteration, assonance, metaphor and simile
- ending with a Tall Tale at end of unit
I. TALL TALES prequiz
- score based on participation
- how well do you know terms and ideas related to Tall Tales?
- answer as best you can
* when you finish, begin reading your first McBroom tall tale,
"McBroom Tells the Truth"
II. MCBROOM'S TALL TALES pckt
- begin to read; start packet of 3 short tales
* response/book report instructions next week
* read first story (at a minimum) by Monday
* read all stories by Friday, Nov. 21 at the latest
although you should be done by Wednesday
DO NOT WAIT UNTIL LAST MINUTE
