- plan on Friday work only if you have to
II. VOCAB WEEK 2 prequiz
- continuing to see and learn process for new vocabulary packets
VOCABULARY PREQUIZ PROCESS:
1. HEAR the word and guess spelling
2. HEAR the word in a sentence and guess meaning based on context
3. HEAR the word used in a sentence and also guess word part (n., v., adj., adv.,)
*** GUESSING TO BEST OF ABILITY
*** USE ALL CLUES YOU CAN TO DETERMINE MEANING
3. SELF-CORRECT using the packet (4 pages, 5 words & 1 idiom each day/page)
* glance at definitions in matching section to see if you got a definition correct
4. COMPLETE DAY 1 in class
* teacher will walk through process on reading and completing
* use a dictionary AFTER you've guessed meanings by using all context clues
5. DAY TWO is always Monday night homework
DAY THREE is Tuesday night HW
DAY FOUR is always Wednesday night HW
* THURSDAYS are for correcting/discussing
* most weeks sentences using words will be due on Fridays
No spelling/vocab tests
III. FAMILY TREE chapter 12-13
- Read aloud, take notes
- shifting character of Tyler
- internal drive to know mother, know Tylers
- words like "slip," "sneak," etc. signal shift in character
