10/20/14 - MO

I.  SCARY WORDS VOCABULARY
- different vocab this week
- words that create suspense, terror, fear
- frequently used in scary stories (pulp fiction, 1970's comic stories, etc.)
- peruse list and recognize/note 25 that stand out for you
   they sound fearful, interesting, powerful, etc.
- begin Word Search (due Friday)
- begin Haunted Halloween crossword (due Friday)
- practice pronouncing some words with gestures, tones/intonations to convey meaning

HW:  27 words with word part and etymology (for the A+)  -  DUE FRIDAY
          Use formats on hand outs
          Illustration/symbol/icon on the outside fold  flap
          Include detailed definition and sentence
                sentence may be original or a "found" sentence


II. FAMILY TREE chapter
- entering "love story/Romeo and Juliet" phase of novel
- notice how letters have been sent and author has distracted YOU as a reader? Crafty.



HOMEWORK - teacher suggested schedule/you adjust schedule to fit your week
