I.  MINI ILLUSTRATED BOOKLET - pre instruction review
- go to page 11 of your planner (we'll use the extra space)
- here's what you should be doing on your MIB:
- finish reading! (you can't start your booklet if you don't know about your person)
- think about how to break up your person's life into NINE CHAPTERS
- look at organization of your book; look at table of contents for ideas;
- begin thinking about how to create a map of your person's world
- look to see if your book has a map already made for your reference
- think about design;  what will your book look like?  Are you creative?
* you can do an online book, too

II.  LEGACY OF ROME, HA CHPT 1, pp. 6-17

Key Questions
- What was the Roman Empire?  When was the R. emp? What did they do?
- What did Rome leave behind?  Why do we still talk about them?
- Where did the Roman Empire go?  What happened?
- How has the ancient Roman Empire affected us to this day?

 * open HISTORY ALIVE textbook to "Legacy of Rome," chapter 1, pages 6-17

- walk through Key Idea (title of Frame),
-  "is about" box can be found in the first or second paragraph of the Introduction
- "so what?" often in the Summary or last paragraph of Introduction
- "main idea" of each column is the SubHeading of each section
- "supporting details" are two facts per box from the text in that section

* shorten words; don't write in full sentences; key words that you can explain later
* HOMEWORK only if you want to complete more columns for a better grade
