      Requires a completed SUN School application

I.  TRACKER/HW check in (YOU SHOULD BE DOING THIS AT HOME, TOO)
- plan out week of work for MIB chapters
   (9 rough drafts by Sunday)
   (should already be half way into finishing roughs)
- review CW "showing reading"
* think about your week and plan on when you can work

II.  ANCIENT ROME - ESSAY PREP
- put in your mind that you will be writing a quick write (QW) essay today
- review HA chapter 1 for information/words you would use in an essay
- skim and scan for words/terms you'd use;

- close HA texts and share with person across from you:
  if you had to write an essay on ancient Rome, what would you mention?
* essay prep/scaffolding; if you are unsure, you've listened to others who have ideas

III. ancient Roman Empire -- QUIZ
- proper format and title
- ten facts you know (and would likely include in your essay)
- incorrect facts do not count against you
- you are trying to score ten points w/ ten strong details
- does not have to be a chronological listing
- write more than ten if you finish fast and want to ensure you score 10 points
- some facts and details will be longer, some shorter; must have variety
- if you finish, go back and lightly circle words you think might be mispelled
- add and "sp?" which means you'd go back later to check spelling

IV:  ancient Roman Empire -- Quick Write Essay
- create a list of points to mention (a list outline)
- you can use your FRAME outline as a guide, also
- one to two pages, SS Spiral.
- you may not be able to tell everything
- don't tell what you don't know
