I.  SPRING BREAK TALK
- talk with people at your table about what you did over the break
- move seats; talk with new people about what you did over the break
- be a good listener as well as talker

- BRAINSTORM 10-15 events/descriptions of activities during the break
- left-hand side of LA Spiral
* more than one-two-word phrases; descriptive; adjectives, details
* even the most mundane events (boring, simple, common)
* list of events conveys a tone, mood, sense of how break went

- BRAINSTORM 3-5 adjectives describing overall break (bottom left-hand sheet)

II.  guided SPRING BREAK on-demand QUICK WRITE
- first sentence overall statement of break (sets up reader)
* use adjectives you just brainstormed
- second sentence mentions a variety of activities that help reinforce first sentence
- last sentence of paragraph focuses on one-to-three events that was memorable for some reason
- rest of essay focuses on reinforcing, describing last sentence

- final paragraph - lessons learned, final thoughts, summary of week and what made it good or what you'd do differently if you could.  SOME form of recognizable conclusion.

III.  VOCAB WEEK 19
- preview words; share/review asterix words
- complete WK 19 Day 1
* sentences all on first five chapters of Blood Red Horse

* AS ALWAYS - it is up to students to determine when and how individual parts of homework can be worked on, NOT by waiting to do all homework at the last minute.
