SPRING BREAK HOMEWORK

READ BLOOD RED HORSE TO PAGE 158
* students have had book since last Tuesday and actually shouldn't have much to read.
* however, it's a GOOD book and may finish by return (not a problem).
* we'll finish novel the week we return from Spring Break


EXTRA CREDIT OR MAKE UP WORK
* you don't HAVE to do it; it's an option for you to raise your grade.
* please make it neat and organized, or I will not take it;
* all suggestions below fit within the categories of tasks for work we've done in class so far

 DUE THE MONDAY OR TUESDAY WE RETURN FROM BREAK.


VOCABULARY    Find challenging, interesting, powerful, colorful, unfamiliar words.
            Write out sentence w/ word, underlining word.  CAPITALIZE word.
            Page number (in parentheses) at end of sentence.
            Thorough definition of the word. Part of speech.  Origins, if you can.
            Write original sentences using vocabs, for more credit.
            * Original sentences count towards Vocab Sentence assignments.  



RESEARCH        Look up actual people, places or objects from the novel.
NOTES                 Research person, place or object.
                              e.g.  Jerusalem, King Richard, Saladin, Holy Land, etc.
* or CORNELL    (Just like our Poster Research assignment)
       NOTES               
                         Tools or medieval objects can also be researched.
                         Notecards can also help with Non-fiction notecards assignment.

GEOGRAPHY    Research places mentioned in the book.
                             Write 10-20 facts you learn about geography or culture or people.   
                            What would help us understand the story better.

CASTLE        The point of the Castle Reading Packet was to help plan your castle.
READING        Complete EXTRA RSRCH NOTES in Cornell-Note format
PACKET            on some aspect of the novel - types of horse, castles, Muslims,
                        Crusades, etc.
