 HOMEWORK CLUB CONTINUES!!!
WEDNESDAY-THURSDAYS, 2:15 - 3:15

I.  DAILY EXPECTATIONS (again)
- reminder to get tracker out at start of each class; begin to organize
- check your tracker to see what's due, what should be worked on
- REMINDERS (section at end of week at a glance)
- M/W/F are typically going to be Language Arts Days
- Tu/Th are typically going to be Social Studies
- Purple grammar book only bring to class when requested
* many students not checking their trackers notes first and asking me what to bring
* we'll get there.  Check your tracker first.  THEN ask me.

II.  VOCAB -OR -ER -IST
- correct and discuss at tables
- say the word AND the definition when correcting or sharing answers
- make sure incorrect answers are correct
* use tonight as a review for a possible quiz on Friday

III.  SS TEXT CHAPTER REVIEW
- how to find information based on the design and structure of a book
- what are the elements of a chapter?
- Chapter Titles, Sub titles (and sub-sub titles), Vocabulary/terms in bold face
- Maps, Charts and Graphics; Pictures, paintings, art; and captions
- An introduction and a summary
* knowing where to find this information helps to find information quickly
* skimming and scanning activity/reading

- Focusing on the elements of a chapter design, complete a graphic organizer with names and titles.
-  This FRAME is NOT homework.  We'll finish up on Tuesday

__  review VOCAB wksht (-or, -er, -ist) - turn in FRI w/ prequiz & word part wksht
__  read 20-30 minutes MINI ILLUSTRATED BOOKLET CHOICE BOOK

* start to figure out how much time these papers will take you
* show reading as we discussed in class
* you might finish quite a bit in one night
* REVIEW YOUR WEEKLY ACTIVITIES such as practices and such
    to figure out how much time you'll have
