3/13/13 - WE

*  CONGRATULATIONS ON 7TH GRADE WINNING CANNED FOOD DRIVE

*  BOOK FAIR THIS WEEK

GRANDPARENTS DAY THIS FRIDAY


I.  GRAMMAR REVIEW WARM UP
- "To, Too, Two" and "There, Their, They're"
- Box verbs and underline key details (show you read instructions)
- Box key terms and underline key definition details (show you understand rules/examples)
- Write notes to right of choices
    *  explain which rule is being used and why an answer is correct or incorrect

II.  OUTSIDERS - Character Analysis practice
- "Who is Jerry Wood and how does he function in the novel?"
-  Write quick write on left-hand side page in LA spiral (1-page, max)
-  Copy teacher-led Cornell-style notes on right-hand side of spiral


III.  OUTSIDERS - chapter 7-8
- SSR
- begin to answer/DISCUSS Chapter 7-8 questions
* flip page tape into spiral; do not have to write out answers at this point.

HOMEWORK --  (no CW this week)

___  complete VOCAB WEEK 12 in a timely manner
        - DAY 1 complete in class MO
        - DAY 2 complete at home MO night
        - DAY 3 complete at home TU night
        - DAY 4 complete at home WE night
        * begin Outsider SENTENCES once you correct and check answers (each night)
           Try to get a few done early! ! !

___  read ATLAS, page 170, "ISSUES TODAY: POPULATION" (due FRIDAY)
        3 Cornell Notes or Cornell-Style Notes on lined paper
        - break each question into a Cornell Note
        - brief, clipped details (no full sentences)
        - focus on only key words or details
        - don't write words like "the, and, etc."
        * shouldn't take a long time; hardest part is what NOT to write
