2/29/12 - LEAP DAY WED

* * * IT'S A LEAP YEAR FEBRUARY 29TH ! ! !

CASTLES DUE MARCH 5TH - completed
     * considered late if turned in after that.
     * scored reduced to a C, C-, or C+ (max grade)
- include a one-page, typed background history, origin of your castle
     * use video notes if you have zero ideas and haven't done any research


I.  TRACKER CHECK -- always start off looking at and updating your tracker
* I'll check VOCABULARY PACKETS DURING WARM UPS

II.  PUNCTUATION WARM UP
- capitalizing abbreviations
- underlining book titles
* these two errors are extremely common in this year's 7th grade class!  :(

III. ESSAY REVIEW
- read "Building A Legend"
- looking at details
- thinking about Johnny's admiration for Dallas (and details/proof)

IV.  OUTSIDERS - after the fire
- Chapter 6-7
- continue to read and take notes
- the boys become heroes (don't know it)
- the boys make choices that show they are NOT "hoods"
- the boys act like gallant knights or "Southern Gentlemen" who do the right thing
