I.  ROMANTIC CASTLE
- search and find
* visual of what you could be doing with your castle
* visual of castle life (leading into writing)
* use colored pencils, not markers
- SAMURAI CASTLE on flip side for comparison ideas
* cut to fit into borders of SS Spiral; tape to become flip page (left to right)

How was W. Europe NOT overcome by invaders
from the E?  Byzantine Empire served as a buffer.
Unintentional, but it worked out that way.

II. BYZANTINE - overview
- review History Alive drawing of city, page 60
- jot down observations on how Byzantines lived (quietly, groups, class)
- read HA, Chpt. 6, pp. 61-67
- complete HA ISN, pg. 32-33
