I.  VOCAB/ATLAS (homework)
- organize homework
- review tracker
- make sure homework is prepared or get a few extra answers done

* organization process that should happen at home every night

II.  INDEPENDENT READING BOOK REPORT TALK
- HOW do you figure out what a good timeline looks like?
- HOW do you figure out what's required?
- HOW do you plan your timeline (due in two weeks)?

(teacher led process - but what all students should do on own)
- Go to Google and look up "timelines"
- look at "images"
- start to review timelines
- WHAT TIMELINES look good?
- WHAT are the elements of a good timeline?
- WHAT do all timelines have?
- COMPARE several timelines to take note of different design ideas

III.  OUTSIDERS
- review ch. 1-2
- study author's style
- scan and find all mention of Soda Pop (scanning skill)
- write down all the quotes that shows Ponyboy's love of Soda
- (as opposed to his fear/dislike of his oldest brother)
- Quick write about people you like

       (a tool, invention, battle, person, event, place, etc.)
       Write Cornell-style notes that would prep you for a possible essay

___ EXTRA CREDIT: find words in your current Ind. Rdng Bk.
       Words that are historical, interesting, unclear to you, foreign to you, challenging
       Words that help make this novel seem more authentic and real
       Write the word, the sentence, the part of speech, a definition and an image
       Definitions that give more background and explanation get more credit.
