- build background for novel's ground-breaking approach
- QW: Mistakes you've made
- teacher story/model;
- write general introduction about mistakes;
- then zero in on one story in particular


III. OUTSIDERS - chpt. 1 continued
- read aloud by teacher;
- answer CH. 1 Q's in groups
- write answers to # 3, 5, 6, 9, 10 (in that order)
- write answers IN LA spiral
