3/7/11 - MO

* moving into the crux (focal point/main theme part) of OUTSIDERS this week, as well as moving from castles to KNIGHTS, CHIVALRY, and HERALDRY


I.  VOCAB WEEK 17
- write suffixes/prefixes and meanings on back of lined paper
- prequiz/self-correct
* work on Day 1 (Day 2 homework)



II.  OUTSIDERS - review
- select 2-3 quotes from end of Ch 4, start of CH 5
- write quotes in spiral with an illustration
- group share quotes

III.  OUTSIDERS - READ CH 5
- discuss concepts: hair and identity;
- read Robert Frost: "Nothing Golden Stays"
- Southern Gentlemen/gallantry and manners
   used to compare to Greasers
