I. VOCABULARY PRE-QUIZ (from Henry IV, Part 1 summary packet)
- hear word, try to guess the spelling
- hear the word used in a sentence, try to use context to guess meaning
= 80% or better score and you do NOT have to do the vocabulary HW this week
II. REVIEW summary packet of Shakespeare's HENRY IV, Part 1
* HOME READING PACKET
- 20-30 minutes per night, four nights per week
- answer questions as you go
- expect periodic check ins every few days (don't do this last minute)
- vocabulary for the week from and IN the packet
* vocab words underlined, definitions in (parentheses) and in italics
20 VOCABULARY WORDS from first 2-3 pages (your choice)
* you can do more for extra credit (there are more than 20)
* due by next Monday
VOCABULARY FORMAT:
__ word (boxed, underlined, bold face, or in caps)
__ definition (provided to you in modified form IN the packet)
__ "sentence in which word appears, with word underlined, or in bold face
__ small, icon/image to convey meaning of the word
* a total of THREE vocabs will be due, one each of the next three Mondays, 20 words each
* words can be chosen from each third of the packet

- continue to discuss in groups CH 1 questions
- jot down a word or two on question sheet that help you answer Q's
- notes on use of COLOR in the OUTSIDERS
