setting (tone, mood, time period, etc. -- more than just time)
supporting characters
antagonist/conflict (and internal / external motivations)
themes/lessons/values in the book
opening, hook, peak, resolution, other significant moments in the story
- create a list of above items to discuss or illustrate in simple line drawing
write list IN tracker
III. ICON BOOK TALK with posters in class
- walk through the story going back and forth, explaining the story by focusing on literary elements
