SBAC TESTS currently scheduled for MAY 5-6

* Opt out forms handed out.  Please return to office (or teacher, who will turn in for you)

PROJECT HUMMINGBIRD to help support a family in our community

* Donations can be brought in to the office or given to your math or core teachers
* HAT DAY THIS FRIDAY will benefit Project Hummingbird

I.  MULTICULTURAL BOOK CHOICE
- review, look at books to make choice
- look at (a) title; (b) cover; (c) back page blurb; (d) author's name; (e) leaf through book
- choose a book that you think will interest you, a culture that catches your attention
- log reactions to several books IN your LA Spiral, including WHY you picked the book you finally
  did choose

- READ INSTRUCTIONS for POETRY SCRAPBOOK
   We'll look at examples on Friday; write your questions in tracker or a separate piece of paper

** plan to read in two weeks and work on poetry/reactions during this time
** MULTICULTURAL BOOK POETRY SCRAPBOOK will be due in just over 3 weeks
     We have to look at schedule to make sure it fits in with all the rest going on in 7th grade
      We will also be doing poetry IN class, too

___  read MULTICULTURAL choice BOOK 20-30 minutes; get a good start
        look at number of pages and plan how to finish in 2 weeks or less
        * Be prepared to write first poem on Friday

        * write down any questions you might have
        * look up any poem forms you might not be familiar with but want to try out
