BOOK REPORTS DUE TOMORROW, THURSDAY FEB 11th
TEAM TIME & TEAM TIME ACADEMIC RECOVERY FRIDAY, FEB 12th

I.  HOMEWORK CHECK / TRACKER
- where are you at?
- what needs to still be done on the book report (due THURS)?
- what still needs to be done on the VOCAB WK 9 (show packet on THURS)
*  PLAN/be SPECIFIC!!!

II.  OUTSIDERS
- hand out and cut chapter 1 Q's (flip page tape into spiral)
- hand out and cut bRACE question format instructions (flip tape into tracker)
- teacher model question 1 answer/discuss/justify/reasons for such detailed answers
* please note:
    There are too many questions to ever finishing writing them all.
    That's not the goal.
    The majority of questions are for group discussion purposes.
    Be prepared to discuss any or all.
    If you do finish a chapter and others are still reading, that is when you start
         writing full, detailed, bRACE answers in your spiral
    Never more than two pages of answers, unless instructed otherwise
    You will not fail if you read at a slower pace and don't get answers written
    You may have to answer some questions from home or at other times

- students continue to discuss questions 2-17 (do not write anything...just discuss)
- use books/cite specific quotes; use words from the text, not off the top of your head

III.  ssr read OUTSIDERS chapter 1
-  do not continue on to chapter 2
-  begin answering/writing answers to underlined questions in your spiral
- we'll discuss/share several questions and answers at the end of class

THINK ABOUT/PAY ATTENTION TO:
- use of colors
- narrators views of others
- use of eyes to indicate personality and narrator's feelings towards that person
- narrator's own creation of himself as an outsider
- differences between greasers and Socs

     - write about your friends, your neighborhood, fears, favorite local places to hang out
__ continue HISTORICAL DIARY BOOK REPORT (due TOMORROW!!!!!!)
     - books should have been finished last week
     - we've had time in class to complete
     - HW list have been specific (which pages, not just BK RPT)
