3/16/15 - MO

*** BOOK FAIR ALL THIS WEEK (we'll visit on Wednesday)
SPIRIT DAY:  PJ DAY

I.  VOCAB - (KNIGHT'S and CHIVALRY)
- continue to read KNIGHT'S pckt
- should already have boxed and underlined to show reading
* 24 WORDS & DEFINITIONS from pckt or outside research
* more than simple, quick, brief definitions whenever possible

* NO SENTENCES (unless you want to create a story for extra credit, using the words)
* NO IMAGES required (unless you want extra credit to make up for past assignments)

II.  RHYMING WORDS - Limerick's practice
- in groups play with rhyming words (copy list of common words and brainstorm rhyming words)
* places and names okay; slight spelling variations okay, too

-  read and practice limericks; both student practice, then walk through with teacher
- focus on cadence and rhythm and rhyming pattern

* it appeared that students struggled with some aspects of this so we will not be writing limericks this week; we'll have to come back to these (and there is GREAT clamor for the Outsiders movie)

HOMEWORK - no regular packet vocab, geography CW, Atlas, or sentences due this week

__ finish the Knight's Rdng Packet (should have already boxed key words and underlined details)
__ begin/start 3-5 Knight's/Chivalry vocab (24 words due by Friday)
__ continue 2-4 Non Fiction Book Notecards (20 due FR, w/ Bibliography card)

* every day you show spirit may be used for a credit against a notecard or a definition
* if you show spirit every day, you could turn in 14 note cards and still get an A
* see how SPIRIT PAYS!!!! :)
