I.  MCBROOM VOCAB #2
* continuing to help students finess their own word choice by looking at McBroom stories
- teacher models walking through skimming and scanning to find appropriate words
- FIND WORDS THAT ARE CHALLENGING, COLORFUL, WITTY, FUNNY,
  FOLKSY

- same format as previous McBroom vocab:
       WORD
        word part in parentheses (noun, verb, adjective, adverb)
        definition
        quoted sentence from text in which word is used (underline word)
        page number on which word appears
        * illustrations optional for higher grade/extra credit (like last time)
        * 24 words total for full A
        DUE FRIDAY



II. TALL TALE writing
- review elements of tall tales necessary in stories.
       AT LEAST
       5 hyperboles
       3 personifications and/or alliterations
        Folksy language
        2 statements of "truth-telling"
                   i.e. "This is the story of ____ and it is the absolute truth, I tell you."

III. Students should be wrapping up their stories, some will work on revising and editing focus on the list above.
