* work on Poetry Scrapbook if finished testing early for the day

I.  POETRY SCRAPBOOK check in
- tracker check and plan for the week
- create a list of all items TO DO for POETRY SCRAPBOOK
- share each other's lists
 * review Instruction sheet and Check List
* write list in tracker

II.  POETRY SCRAPBOOK VOCAB (due IN Scrapbook on FRI)
- brainstorm/skim & scan for up to 60-70 words
- words that would go into a glossary
- words that help better understand culture or aspects of story
- write down page number where word is found
* will write sentence in which word is used for final glossary
* go through list of 60-70 words and consider any words you could write a poem on
  cinquain, diamonte, quatrain, rhyming, preposition, acrostic, etc.

VOCAB/GLOSSARY: WORD,  * word part *  extended and detailed definition, *
                                      > > skip a line, then...
                                      sentence the word     appears in *  (page number)

Format to fit into your Poetry Scrapbook

III.  ONOMATOPOEIA - rough draft
- define word; what "sounds" occur in your novel?
- pick a moment, a chapter, a character, or cover the whole book
- QUICK quick write/on demand rough draft
- detailed lines (i.e. "DRIP of water from a broken water pipe in the kitchen"
- no more than 10-12 lines

HOMEWORK - students should have a specific TO DO list for each night

Each student was instructed to write their own, specific To Do List

___   begin/continue GLOSSARY VOCAB from novel
___  finalize or review or write remaining poems (you determine how many each night)
___  visualize and plan now FINAL FORMAT
___  research culture, people, or group for one-page report in Poetry Scrapbook
        (i.e. The Australian Aborigine, or the Migrant Workers from Mexico)
