Break in Mr. Hilberg's unit


I.  COMEDY OF ERRORS rdng pckt
- SCORE CHECK (did you SCAN  the packet last night? not read, but scanned?)
- this is a prereading activity; technically you ARE kind of reading story
- struggling readers need to focus on recognizing challenging, powerful, or interesting words
* this is a scored assignment; students will have to make up points later

II.  COMEDY OF ERRORS rdng pckt
- BEGIN VOCABULARY research
- 20-30 words; work quietly; you may end up getting most homework done IN class!
* this is also an exercise in working efficiently, quietly
- WORD (word part abbreviation - n., v., adj., adv.,  etc.)
- definition of the word (that fits use)
- you may use elipses(...) before or after
- put phrases or sentences in quotation marks

III.  share VOCAB words
- walk about and share words;
- trade with partner; they will quiz you on word and definition;
- do the same for your partner

IV.  COMEDY OF ERRORS 
- explain at table what you think the story is about
- does your head hurt?  It should!  This is a confusing play!
- now read and discuss plot/story questions on hand out
- write brief answers on that piece of paper

* today is a play prep day in which we focus on the story of one of our Ashland plays
