II.  current events: RUSSIA & UKRAINE
- discuss what you know
- read articles on current Russia & Ukraine conflict
- show reading
- discuss what you learned

III.  current events HAIKU
- review rules of Haiku
- show reading on instruction sheet
- teacher model what should have been underlined

- review/read several examples from New York Times transit haiku

- kids create 3 or more rough draft Haiku on Russia/Ukraine conflict
  (SS Spiral)
- share/read others
- write at least one for your own Poetry Scrapbook

IV.  WHITEBIRD PREP
- view videos, look for themes & expressions through motion and light

___   continue to read/finish MULTICULTURAL novel (should be finished by now or close to it).

___  continue WRITING 1-2 poems (rough drafts) -- FINAL BOOKLET DUE MAY 16th
___ review and continue reading TEMPEST SUMMARY PACKET (due FRI)
       but it's quick; students should finish by Thursday.
