- use skimming and scanning strategies
- ANSWER Q's sheet (not homework)

III.  THE PROPHET MUHAMMAD - cornell note
- using History Alive, CH8, section 8.9 Summary, page 91
- create a quick Cornell Notes

- turn sheet over and compare to teacher-led Cornell Note

IV. TEACHINGS OF ISLAM - questioning activity/preview activity
- look at images on Interactive Student Journal, page 56
- what questions come to mind that would help explain the images?
- teacher-led example; class asks questions together
- finish in groups - asking questions and making some guesses.
