10/29/13 - TU [CHARLEMAGNE - continued)

 NOTES:
Entertainment Books are due back if you did not sell them

NO CANDY ON FRIDAY (please don't come in all hopped up on sugar)

      we are on a "Team Time" schedule



I.  CHARLEMAGNE
- review notes from previous days
- share important facts
- ten most important details you just reviewed

- finish Charlemagne video "Dark Ages - Part 8 - Greatest King"
- take video notes in spiral

II.  CHARLEMAGNE - quick write essay
- using left-hand side of spiral paper
- write a quick essay on Charlemagne (open-note)
* Who was he and why is he considered so important?  What did he do?
* allows me to see natural writing inclination
   (is there an introduction and conclusion?  Are there facts?
    Main ideas with details?  Did student pick up on major ideas?  etc.)

III.  CHARLEMAGNE - acrostic
- a creative way to show understanding of the proclaimed "father of Europe."
- read instructions
- write rough draft
- try to finish in class (will complete on Thursday)
* since there is no Atlas or CW you *could* finish at home...

HOMEWORK - no CW or Atlas this week (again)

___  finish 55-WORD BAT (due WED)
        * be ready to cut out and paste onto colored paper on Wed. start of class

___  continue/finish CHARLEMAGNE ACROSTIC
        * we will finish in class, but can do more fun stuff if we finish quickly

___  continue to read 20-30 minutes CHOICE BOOK
        * should be half or more into book by now
        * 12 - letters will be explained in next day or two
        * finish book BY Sunday or Monday

___  continue SCARY VOCAB #2 -- 5 more words or so (due FRI)
        * 15 words (any more are extra credit)
        * definition, word part, sentence
        * word origin if you can (for A+)
