I.  FOG by Carl Sandburg
* always read Fog on first real foggy day during school year
- in LA Spiral, write about Fog -- what you think or feel about fog
- Open with "When I think of/see fog I..." to let readers know what your topic is
- Write about Cats
- Next sentence is "But when I think about/see cats, I ..."

- Write Fog as teacher shows each of the six lines
- Focus on topic, purpose of title, tone and mood
- note literary elements being used
* all comments must use text as evidence
- teacher-led analysis (right-hand side of LA Spiral)


II.  SCARY VOCAB #1 
- Pre-Quiz and self correct
* look up 20 scary words
* Define, determine word part type, find/get a sentence using word
    Discover history and origins if you are able
* Due Friday

III.  BOOK TALK info
- Papers for drawings handed out; instructions reviewed
- Schedule finish for book, if not done yet
- Be ready by Wednesday!!!!!
