9/4/13 - FIRST DAY : WELCOME BACK ! !

             (I went ahead and bought the same spirals for everyone = consistency)

I.    WELCOME BACK AND INTRODUCTIONS

II.   ABOUT CORE 
- sit according to white slips (categories)
- read information on white slips (core information)
- reread, then underline 5 minimum/10 maximum key words or phrases
  (what would you HAVE to include in a summary of your info?)
- Table shares (start with oldest student & go to right)
- Classroom Walkabout (share with and listen to 20 students)

HW:  Begin in class 20 facts you learned about 7th Grade Core (due TH)

III.  HOUSEKEEPING
- review everything in PACKETS
  * mark upper right - read, review, fill out, or sign

IV. TEXTBOOK CHECK OUT
- Grammar Books
- History Alive Textbook
- Atlas

__   finish 20 Things I Know About 7th Grade Core
       * neat, legible; typed or handwritten; skip lines between facts;
       * leave one-inch margin on right (where you don't write)
       * not simple sentences, but facts with details; flesh out statements
       * title, your name, core and date properly formatted

__  review PACKET 
      * DON'T RUSH YOUR PARENTS!  Give them packets to review.

          Defined in class as higher priority forms to get back by FR or MO
