I.  VOCABULARY WEEK 16
- correct days 1-4
* students were expected to be finished with all 4 days by Thursday
* yellow marks = not completed on time; not done (reduced grade)

II.  MEDIEVAL TOURNAMENT HAIKU
- review poetic form of HAIKU
- 5/7/5 syllable lines; three line poems
- capture a moment
- read examples of classic masters
  (translated Haiku may not fit into 5/7/5 in English)
  (focus on syllables & images)
- quickly draft 1-3 haikus from the Tournament Search and Find
* you now have enough background to write a haiku or two on your home book

social studies/chivalry & social values

- continue video
- notion of NAME (identity, true self/masking, status)
- crossroads
- compare WATT (base/earthly- ID), ROLAND (caution/superego), & WILLIAM (risk taker/ego)
- earthly comforts, versus safety first, versus dreams and risks
- ideas of goals and dreams
- Geoffrey Chaucer  & his role as link to Modern English

* SENTENCES ARE ON YOUR CURRENT MULTICULTURAL READING BOOK
- focus on using words correctly, showing you understand meaning of word

___  finish VOCAB WEEK 16 SENTENCES on multicultural book (due FRI)

        * begin SENTENCES once you correct and check answers (each night)
           Try to get a few done early! ! !
        * write sentences with detail and context.  Show that you understand the meaning
           of the word.
        * underline or box the vocabulary word; skip lines between sentences
        * title must include which week of vocabulary (which #) and the topic
