I.   Tracker Check 
- take out tracker and get ready for class
- take all items for Core out of your binder for easy reach
- set these on top of your binder under your desk


II. VOCAB WEEK 13
-discuss and correct
* sentences due Friday (tomorrow)


III. KNIGHTS
-finish frames ( about 10 minutes) -- prepare for a one page QW essay on knights
- create outline of an essay on Knights using notes/frame (left-hand side of SS spiral)
* 1-2 word lines only
I Intro sentence
    A. general idea               3 things you will say about knights
    B. general idea
    C. general idea

II.  Main idea next paragraph (from above)
     A.  supporting detail fleshing out main idea of paragraph
     B.  supporting detail fleshing out main idea of paragraph
     C.  supporting detail fleshing out main idea of paragraph

III  and IV paragraphs same as paragraph II

V.  Concluding paragraph -- summarizing, pulling everything together or explaining impact, significance or continuing influence (the "so what?")

- using outline on left-hand side of SS spiral write a one-page essay on right-hand side
- one page only; be aware of how much space is left for conclusion

- when done, we'll pass around essays and look at first and last paragraphs, key words, look for main ideas for each paragraph

        at least one fact from every map type
        * DIRECTIONAL facts (where something is in comparison to other places)
        * COMPARISON facts (how one fact compares to another)

___  complete VOCAB WEEK 13 SENTENCES (due FRIDAY)
        - open topic; write on whatever you like

        * write sentences with detail and context.  Show that you understand the meaning
           of the word.
        * underline or box the vocabulary word; skip lines between sentences
        * title must include which week of vocabulary (which #) and the topic
