I. VOCABULARY WEEK 4 PACKET
- discuss, correct, share in table groups
- class check
*  All sentences this week on first four chapters of your middle ages fiction book

social studies/reading/notetaking
II. THE POWER OF THE CHURCH
- READ Across the Centuries, pages 280-288 (SSR)
- teacher model FRAME (citation, title, topic "is about" sentence)
- teacher model breaking down a subsection into an outline using a FRAME
- teacher model first column (think aloud: "why am I doing it this way?")
- students continue to work quietly to end of class (not homework)
- create FRAME only on "Church Hiearchy" sub section
- end with crafting a "so what?" or conclusion statement
Q:  How did the organization of the church help it influence and impact Europe?

        • continue to read book; expectation is 20-30 minutes per night, M-Th
           with catch up or extra reading over the weekend (student choice or planning)
        • plan to be finished by Tuesday
