I.  TRACKER CHECK/REVIEW
- start off class by checking tracker; filling out tracker
- reviewing homework for day & week

II.  lit warm-up: NARRATIVE READING: CONCRETE JUNGLE
- read one page narrative
- answer questions (quietly, independent work)
- share with other, discuss answers
* example of how you might write an entry for your Classics Illustrated book
- write on back the plot (just plot) of your story from start to end
- focus on what, who, where, when, why, how
* this can be used to help you decide on what to write about for your
   Classics Illustrated journal

III.  FAMILY TREE - chapter 17-18
- review story notes (in spiral)
- discuss
- read aloud and discuss/answer questions
- QW's in spiral: 
(1) Why does Ms. Custer take the students on a field trip?
(2) Why does Tyler dislike it when Michael Cohen makes fun of Ms. Custer's name?
* teacher-led model on how to start off a clear, detailed answer that builds context and background.
