9/19/12 - WE (LATE OPENING)

I.  HW PACKET - review
- review tracker, homework from last night
- finish some work
- work briefly on a page or two of hw packet

II.  GRAMMAR WARM UP: Root Word Mot- or Mov- (motion)
- group share/discuss -- talk out the answers
- correct as a class
- when to add a double consonant (rule)

III.  FAMILY TREE
- Review notes and summaries so far (get into story mode)
- DISCUSS Ch. 2 questions (table discussions)
- Read Ch 3 out loud; students take visual or word notes
- "Doodling" on paper while listening w/ teacher ideas and guidance
- Stop at key moments and discuss events or words/predict what's coming next

* PLEASE NOTE:  The entire homework packet is due Friday.  Students will have various times to work on some of the pages in class (if they use their time well).  We discuss in class how to look at the packet and break it up into daily pieces that can be completed.  Students also have some choice as to what pages they work on first.  Each night of this week, 2-3 pages of their choice should be the goal.
