4/11/12 - WE

RUN FOR THE ARTS PLEDGE SHEETS 
and $$$   DUE BY THURSDAY

I.  TRACKER REVIEW  &  HOMEWORK CHECK-IN
- review homework progress; plan tonight's homework
- continue working on map, vocab or atlas HW
* time has been provided all this week to complete most HW at the start of class


II.  rough draft of  I AM POEMS - poetry scrapbook
- review form/structure and example
- choose a character in your book to write an I Am Poem as your subject
- using novel, write a rough draft of an I Am Poem based on your novel
* revise and type or rewrite as next stage

- review and discuss elements of a RECIPE POEM (hand out)

* POETRY SCRAPBOOKS DUE MONDAY APRIL 30

II.  OUTSIDERS - movie
- start first half of movie
- discuss a few changes director had to make to bring the book to film

ALL HOMEWORK IS GEARED TOWARDS THE POETRY SCRAPBOOK
THAT WILL BE BASED ON THE MULTICULTURAL NOVEL
STUDENTS ARE READING AT HOME.  

__  continue VOCABULARY (check in TH)
      25 words from first few chapters of your Multicultural Novel, 
       with sentence from the bookpage number and 
       extended definition, explaining how the word fits into the story

__  continue ATLAS FACTS  about country or region of book (check in TH)
      
__  continue to create MAP (check in TH)

** EACH OF THE ABOVE ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE REVISED AND 
POLISHED TO BE INCLUDED IN THE POETRY SCRAPBOOK 
DUE MONDAY, APRIL 30.
