I.  PERUSE CASTLES
- walk about and look at the variety of castles
- discuss, chat


II.  PERUSE CASTLES w/ scoring rubric
- look over castle rubric (hand out)
- walk around now and look to see if castles have requisite (required) parts
* do not mark any rubrics (just look)

III. SCORE other students' CASTLES
- walk around and score other castles (not your own)
- work in pairs; discuss criteria; LOOK for POSITIVES
- take your time
- write comments; what was done well;  what could have made score higher?
   what might have been missing;


IV.  STATE ASSESSMENT BEGINS TODAY
- brainstorming process
- look at and choose a prompt
- begin to brainstorm ideas, thoughts, words, phrases you will use
* may use a frame, bubble out ideas, use scratch lined paper
* may not begin rough draft today
