Today's activities are, again, geared so that students can work freely
AND still participate with mask-making without falling behind
I. VOCABULARY for this week (brief few minutes)
* No regular work packet this week
- take a few minutes to look over time tracker, organize self, look over homework
- 30 words from *last* three chapters of independent reading book
- include sentence in which word appears
- write out word, word part, and definition
* due Friday (we discussed how much to work on per night)
* extra credit opportunities for more words (with icons/illustrations)
II. view STATE OF THE UNION ADDRESS
* Focus on speach strategies, allusion, reference, structure of speech
- view first ten minutes or so of President Obama's SotUA
- dissect, discuss how he approached this speech, implications, etc.
III. OUTSIDERS
- work quietly finishing, then discuss in groups study questions CH 1
- # 3, 5, 7 are to be written in spirals, however
- begin reading Chpt 2 (teacher read aloud)
- write key word list as directed by teacher

** Please note that students have and will have time during class to work on all homework assignments, which should allow them to get ahead on "homework"
