II.  CHARACTER ANALYSIS - start

- brainstorm story (list in LA spiral)
- review/analyze character (class discussion)
 * details about main character
* what character is like at start of story
* setting and external problems
* major goal or challenge of the story
* problems or flaws character has at the start of the tale
* the HOOK
* ways in which the character begins to change
* resolution at the end and change in the character
* thesis or lesson of story


III. CARS - character analysis
- watch cars
- begin taking notes on character, setting, themes
* start to recognize elements of fiction at start of a story
 * initial characteristics, internal motivations
* setting, themes, motifs
